OUR HISTORY

VE was founded in 2007 when a group of students travelled to New Orleans, Louisiana for Hurricane Katrina disaster relief. While they were there, they met several alternative break service organizations and realized the need for such an organization at CSU. In 2010, VE became a General Fee Unit. Since, VE has grown into a vibrant student-led service initiative with multiple local service days and alternative break trips each year.

VE is a student-led service organization that partners with a variety of agencies in the Greater Cleveland area to address the needs of the local community. VE provides Cleveland State University students with both national and international service opportunities by offering affordable alternative break trips around the globe. The goal of these trips is to give students valuable life experiences while broadening their worldview.​

Viking Expeditions at Cleveland State University will be a leader in its' field and a model service-learning program. We will make Cleveland State University known as a leading institution in creating a culture of leadership and fostering global citizenship.
